Privacy

The short version: we collect very little, we sell nothing, and everything here is opt-out-able.

Who we are

Fatboy Run Club is a Bristol-based running club. This website is run by the club. For anything privacy-related, email fatboyrunclubofficial@gmail.com.

The sign-up form

If you fill in the sign-up form, we collect your name, email address, home city, an optional Strava profile link, and what you're interested in. That's stored with Netlify (our hosting provider) and used for one thing: the occasional club update. We don't sell it, share it, or add you to anything else. Want out? Email us and we'll delete your details.

Run data from Strava

The Feed and Run to the Moon pages show recent club activity from our Strava club: first name, last initial, and run stats (distance, time, pace, elevation). This comes from Strava's club feed, so it reflects your own Strava privacy settings — if an activity is visible to the club on Strava, it can appear here, where anyone can see it.

Don't want your runs shown? Set your Strava activities to private, leave the Strava club, or email us and we'll sort it. The Run to the Moon total also keeps an aggregate distance count — that's just kilometres, with no names attached.

Analytics and cookies

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and doesn't track you across the web — it just tells us roughly how many people visit. We don't set cookies ourselves. The map on the Spots page loads from third-party map providers, which — like any web request — see your IP address.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email fatboyrunclubofficial@gmail.com and it'll be done without fuss. If you think we've handled your data badly, you can complain to the ICO — but we'd rather you told us first.
